Studies now show the importance of providing interventions to address the biopsychosocial aspects of health and healing and the benefits of utilizing mind-body exercises for: rehabilitation, reducing stress, improving functional fitness, enhancing athletic performance, and for preventing injury, disease, and disability. In this two-day seminar you will learn these ancient and modern day mind-body-movements:

 

Tai Chi F.I.T. (Fifteen Important Transitions)

  • Learn the movements, philosophy, physiology, and evidence to support the utilization of Tai Chi in a variety of clinical settings 
  • How practicing or prescribing Tai Chi is the ultimate way to reduce emotional stress in the face of adversity, improve neuromuscular coordination and proprioception for rehab and sports performance

Qigong F.I.T. (Functional Integrative Training)

  • Learn the mind-body exercises of Qigong that evolved to become the foundational exercises of Chinese medicine and martial arts to improve functional strength, flexibility, endurance, and balance.

Tao-Well: Total-Body-Workout

NOTE: this course is physically challenging!

  • In this session you will learn how to use the U.S. patented Tao-Well to address ALL components of the American College of Sports Medicine’s (ACSM) recommendations for improving or maintaining health and fitness; and also, how you can use this unique tool for self-care and patient-centered rehabilitation.
  • The Tao-Well: Total-Body-Workout incorporates principles of yoga, calisthenics, Pilates, martial arts, plyometrics, interval, and agility training, along with strategies for rehabilitation.
